Skates 'n' Skirts began eight years ago under the name Stitching with Style by Sandra & Julie. It is co-owned by Sandra Nagel and her daughter, Julie Gosling. Julie is a NCCP Certified Level 3 Skate Canada coach and an active skater. Sandra has years of experience as a veteran skating parent, local club volunteer and is an accomplished seamstress.
Our business started with custom made skating dresses and soon branched into skates and all other skating supplies. Even with continued growth, Julie and Sandra primarily operate the business, with assistance from other family members. Julie continues to coach, but has also taken on the role of a skating parent, and Sandra that of a skating grandma.
